The annual community retreat took place, as usual, on the week following Ash Wednesday.

All our industries shut down for that week and the retreat house is closed. The week is spent in quiet which allows for prayer and reflection. Each year, a retreat master comes to give a series of conferences, morning and evening.

This year we were privileged to welcome Dom John Denberger from the Abbey of the Genesee in New York state. He used the model of Christ, some of the saints and anecdotes from his own life to speak about our journey to the centre of the heart in monastic life, past our evasions and fears, to the unique mystery of our call.
