We would like to wish everyone a blessed Lenten season. May it be filled with grace for you and your loved ones.

From Guerric of Igny's Sermon for the Second Week of Lent - on the prodidgal son, Luke 15:11-32:

ubique misericordia praevenit.

Everywhere mercy precedes. It preceded the desire of the confession, in fact it inspired it. And it will precede the expression of the confession, because what was to be confessed was already forgiven. "When he was still far off," the scripture says, "his father saw him, and was moved to pity. And running, he fell upon his neck and kissed him."

How much these words seem to say that the father was even more anxious to give his pardon to the son than the son was to receive pardon.
