For well over a decade now, the wrapping machine for our fruitcakes (and formerly for cheese) sat in the first floor of the what the monks call the farms building.

Since discontinuing our cheese production, this has become more inconvenient. Our fruitcakes are stored, for example, on the second floor.

The second floor in the meantime has been renovated to modernize the storage of the fruitcakes, including adding climate control.

The decision was made to move the wrapping machine to the second floor so that the entire post-baking fruitcake operation could be in one place.

However, the wrapping machine is large and complex. To move it required a lot of planning and careful execution. A large lift was rented to do most of the work of moving the machine and a special platform was built to receive it on the second floor.

It was a frosty, foggy morning, and everything went relatively smoothly. We applaud our regular work crew and Br. Aaron for their success in a very complex and delicate operation.
