Following in the footsteps of several monks from his community in Vietnam, Br. John Vianney will be staying as a long-term guest of Gethsemani.

After a 14-hour journey, Br. John Vianney arrived at the monastery after Compline on May 12 and began joining the brothers in choir at Lauds the next morning. He plans to be at Gethsemani for two years.

Like Brothers Lawrence and John the Baptist (and Brothers Peter Khanh and Ephrem before them), Br. John Vianney is from the monastery of Our Lady of Thien Phuoc, which means "Grace."

Our Lady of Grace is a monastery of our sister Order, the Order of Cistercians (O. Cist.) and is located on Vietnam's southeast coast.

Welcome Br. John Vianney!
