Having completed his first six-year term as abbot of Our Lady of the Genessee Abbey, Dom Gerard D'Souza was re-elected by a large majority for another six-year term on May 31.

Monks from Gethsemani founded Genessee Abbey in Piffard, New York in 1951. As Father Immediate, Gethsemani's Dom Elias Dietz, presided over the election according to Canon Law and the Constitutions of the Order.

Dom Gerard was duly installed and each member of the community renewed his vow of obedience. Please pray for Dom Gerard and all our brothers at Genesee.
