On Saturday, 29th of August, 2009, more than 40 former members of the Gethsemani community gathered here for a reunion, some with family members.

The current community was invited to share dinner with them in the guest-house refectory. Many current monks shared fond memories with those visiting, and renewed old acquaintance. Newer members of the community were enthralled and perhaps enlightened by stories of "the old days."

In the afternoon, the visitors were taken on a tour of the monastery and the grounds to see familiar sights and note changes.
