Each year, December is the busy season at Gethsemani as we send our
cheese, fudge and fruitcake around the country and around the world.
Every available monk works morning and afternoon making boxes, stuffing
them with goodies, and stacking them on pallettes, ready for shipping. In
addition to the monks, several volunteers from near and far make it a point
to drop in and lend a welcome hand.
It is good physical labour, and there is a sense of cameraderie among all
those working hard. Nevertheless, there is a collective sigh of relief
when it is all done.
We would like to thank Fr. Peter, who organized the whole operation, keeping
everything flowing smoothly amid what seemed like chaos. We also thank
those who volunteered their time and energy helping us out, spending part
of their Christmas working at our side. Most of all, we thank those of you
who include the products we make all year long on your Christmas table
and under the trees of family and friends.
